Multi Alarm GB was incorporated in the UK in 1971 by Neil Skuse, formerly of MINVERVA FIRE DEFENCE. The Company was formed to meet the demand for fire detection and alarm systems in Hotels and Boarding Houses arising out of the Fire Precautions Act 1971.
Multi
Alarm GB quickly became
recognised for a competitively priced, professional performance,
all delivered with a very
friendly and personal service attached. The portfolio of clients
soon included local authorities and Housing Associations all charged with providing
accommodation for the elderly, mentally infirm and socially disadvantaged.
To
this day, these clients are still being looked after by Multi
Alarm GB and have been joined by
many hospitals and universities who have been faced with rocketing demand
for student
and nurses' accommodation and campus facilities. There are, in addition, prestigious
commercial and industrial customers including British Telecommunications
plc
who have protected their earth satellite stations using the Company's IFAX analogue
addressable equipment.
In 1986, the rapidly developing smoke detector technology brought the realisation that the future was likely to be built around analogue addressable systems. In the absence of suitable control equipment, the Company decided to research and develop its own, and the now famous IFAX range of equipment was the result. Today this equipment can be seen in all types of buildings all over the UK, not just in Multi Alarm GB sites but those that are looked after by other leading independent companies who rely on IFAX to give them the powerful and flexible design and control facilities that these locations demand. IFAX is dedicated to the superb range of analogue addressable detectors from Apollo Fire Detectors Ltd and together, they offer an unrivalled British fire detection system package.
Multi Alarm GB is committed to third-party certification to provide independent assurance to its clients that only the very best in equipment and project design is good enough for life safety systems. In July 2002 the company became the UK's first BAFE (British Approvals for Fire Equipment) SP203 Registered Firm. The National Security Inspecorate, NSI/NACOSS, accredited by UKAS, regularly monitor and audit the Company's systems and quality procedures to provide complete assurance to clients. In addition Multi Alarm GB is either a full Member of, or is enrolled by, a number of very important Trade Associations for the extra protection of customers.
