Apollo Products

We work closely with Apollo Fire Detectors Ltd and can supply a variety of products from their range. Below is a selection of some of the more common products we use and install.

Multisensor Detector

Multisensor Detector

The Discovery multisensor detector contains an optical smoke sensor and a thermistor temperature sensor whose outputs are combined to give the final analogue value. The multisensor is, therefore, useful over a wide range of applications and is highly immune to false alarm sources.

Optical Smoke Detector

Optical Smoke Detector

The Discovery optical smoke detector uses an IR LED which pulses light across a smoke chamber with a photo-diode set an obtuse angle. In clear air it receives no light, but when smoke enters the chamber, light from the LED is scattered onto the photo-diode. A signal is then processed to provide an analogue value for transmission when the detector is polled.

Heat Detector

Heat Detector

The Discovery heat detector, distinguishable by the low airflow resistant case, uses a single thermistor to sense the air temperature around the detector. The thermistor is connected in a resistor network, which produces a voltage output dependent on temperature.

Carbon Monoxide Detector

Carbon Monoxide Detector

The Discovery Carbon Monoxide (CO) fire detector contains a long-life electrochemical CO sensor. The sensing technology is fast, accurate and needs only very low power. CO detectors do not detect smoke particles or heat and are not universal replacements for smoke detectors.

Ionisation Smoke Detector

Ionisation Smoke Detector

Air in the dual sensing chambers is irradiated to produce ions that travel to the positive and negative electrodes, creating a current flow. As smoke enters the outer chamber, the flow drops and voltage increases. The voltage is measured and an analogue signal is converted to digital for transmission to the control equipment.

Discovery Manual Call Point

Discovery Manual Call Point

The Discovery Manual Call Point is compliant with EN54-11. The Call Point can be addressed at the commissioning stage by means of a seven-segment DIL switch. When operated, the manual call point interrupts the polling cycle for a fast response.

Waterproof Manual Call Point

Waterproof Manual Call Point

The Waterproof Manual Call Point has been designed for use outdoors and in places where moisture can occur. It is compliant with EN54-11 and can be used with the Discovery range.

XPander wireless intelligent detectors

XPander wireless intelligent detectors

XPander is Apollo’s new wireless intelligent detector range. Detectors are often installed in buildings where wiring presents a challenge, often because the fabric of the building or its design will be negatively affected by the use of cables.

Interfaces - Standard Range

Interfaces - Standard Range

All of Apollo's Interfaces are Isolated as Standard with the exception of the Mains Switching Input/Output Unit which is non isolated. They are fitted with bi-directional short-circuit isolators so that they are unaffected by a single short circuit on either loop input or output.

Interfaces - Minature Range

Interfaces - Minature Range

Apollo's Miniature Interfaces use very compact enclosures for installation into other equipment.

The Sounder Beacon Base

The Sounder Beacon Base

The Sounder Beacon Base is a loop-powered sounder and beacon combined with a standard  Intelligent Mounting Base. It is used to signal a fire alarm in enclosed areas. The Sounder Beacon  Base can be used either with a detector fitted or with a cap for operation as a stand-alone alarm  device.

Discovery Sounder Beacon Base

Discovery Sounder Beacon Base

The Discovery Sounder Beacon Base makes full use of the Discovery protocol. When the fire system is being commissioned a magnetic wand can be used to adjust and test each sounder locally.
